This Privacy Policy explains how the Rust Arena game project (the “Project”, “We”, or “Us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal information of users (the “Player”, “You”) when interacting with our website, in-game shop, and game servers.
1. Information We Collect
We practice data minimization and collect only the information strictly necessary to provide stable gameplay, operate our storefront, and enforce server rules:
- Steam Authentication Data: We utilize the official Steam API (Sign In through Steam). We receive only your public digital identifier (SteamID64), profile name (nickname), and avatar. We never receive, request, or have access to your Steam password, login credentials, or hidden account data.
- Game and Technical Logs: We collect your IP address, server connection history, hardware identifiers, in-game actions (chat logs, combat logs, item interactions), and data transmitted by anti-cheat systems (e.g., Easy Anti-Cheat, server-side plugins).
- Payment Data: When making purchases in our in-game shop, we record transaction history (date, amount, purchased item, SteamID). We do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank details, or e-wallet credentials. All payments are securely processed by authorized third-party payment gateways.
3. Purposes of Processing
We use the collected information exclusively for the following purposes:
- Providing access to the game servers and personalizing website features.
- Automatically processing and crediting digital items purchased in the shop.
- Security & Integrity: Detecting, investigating, and permanently blocking cheaters, unauthorized software users, and players violating Project rules.
- Providing customer support and resolving tickets.
- Analyzing generalized server traffic to improve network stability.
4. Sharing Data with Third Parties
We respect your privacy and do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer your personal data to third-party marketing organizations. Exceptions include:
- Payment Processors: Information such as your SteamID and Order ID may be shared with your chosen payment gateway strictly to facilitate and verify a transaction.
- Anti-Cheat Networks: To maintain a fair gaming environment, identifiers of banned players (such as SteamID and IP addresses) may be shared with community ban databases or anti-cheat developers.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data to law enforcement agencies or regulatory bodies when strictly required to comply with applicable laws or valid legal requests.
5. Data Retention and Protection
- Protection: We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to server logs and databases is strictly limited to authorized Project administrators.
- Retention: We retain game logs and transaction history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. Data related to banned accounts is retained indefinitely to prevent ban evasion.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our servers and website are not directed at, nor do we knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you are under this age, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use our services.
7. User Rights and Data Deletion
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to request access to the personal data we store about you or request its complete deletion.
- Note on Deletion: Requesting data deletion will result in the permanent removal of your website account and in-game profile, meaning the loss of all progress, digital items, and ranks.
- To submit a data request, please contact us via our official support channels.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. The most current version will always be available at /privacy. Your continued use of the website or game servers following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated document.
